Columbus State Community College Implements CurricUNET META

Governet and Columbus State Community College completed implementation of its CurricUNET META System.

Located in Columbus Ohio, Columbus State Community College has been dedicated to meeting the educational needs of students for 50 years. The College has grown from an initial enrollment of 67 students in 1963, to its current thriving campus of around 26,000 students.

Governet and Columbus State Community College staff worked in tandem to configure the software to the college’s specific needs for an online curriculum management system for development and approval of new courses and programs modification of existing curriculum.

Governet and Columbus State Community College staff will soon be starting the next phase of implementation to address the college’s outcome assessment needs using CurricUNET META’s Assessment module.

New CurricUNET META Release

META: Whitney Release  –  As part of Governet’s continuing commitment to improve the CurricUNET META base system a regularly scheduled release was deployed to all META Systems on June 4, 2016.  The Whitney release comprised many new features, updates, and fixes as well as minor UI updates.  Areas that users can expect to see changes with the META system include proposal reactivation, course numbering validation, show/hide feature on workflow comments, builder enhancements to allow for improved configuration and turnaround times, ad hoc reporting enhancements, improved searching and results filtering.  In addition, this release also contained many client specific requests such as code changes and new/custom reporting.

New releases are scheduled every eight (8) weeks.  The next release is scheduled for July 30, 2016.

Governet announces that a major update in the form of a META Release was successfully deployed to production on June 6, 2015.

Customer Support Announcement

Cheradan Thompson who has been serving as Governet’s Customer Support Manager, was recently presented with another career opportunity. Cheradan accepted that opportunity and we wish her the best. Her resignation was effective May 22, 2015.

While it is unfortunate that Cheradan chose to leave, her departure presents Governet with an opportunity to implement some strategic changes. We are confident these changes will positively impact our customer support department and ultimately service delivery to our clients.

San Jose City College on Line to Save 100s of Man-Hours Thanks to Web-based Curriculum Management System

Robert V. Searcy New VP at Web-Based Governet

Governet, a web-based company that creates and implements curriculum and program management software for colleges and universities around the world, promoted Robert V. Searcy, CPA, to Vice President of Finance, Accounting and Management, according to President Mark Svorinic.

“We are excited to have Robert on our executive leadership team,” said Mr. Svorinic, who has more than 25 years of experience in educational technology. “His depth of experience in management accounting and business has already and will continue to benefit Governet.”

In his role as VP, Mr. Searcy will lead Governet’s accounting, finance, human resources and legal departments.

Prior to joining Governet, Mr. Searcy worked as financial controller, corporate secretary and treasurer for Intrepid Technology & Resources, Inc., a publicly-traded software development and project management consulting and contracting company. He also gained valuable experience working as the chief financial officer and treasurer at Idaho Pacific Holdings, Inc., where he helped turn around a bankrupt potato dehydration business into one of the largest and most profitable in North America.

Mr. Searcy earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Business at Brigham Young University in Utah.

Web-Based Governet Re-organizes Executive Team

The executive team at Governet, a web-based company that creates and implements curriculum and program management software for colleges and universities around the world, was re-organized on Jan. 1, 2015, according to President Mark Svorinic.

“The goal of this re-organization is to provide better service to our clients, advance our product development at a faster pace and proactively engage the marketplace,” said Mr. Svorinic, who has more than 25 years of experience in educational technology.

Governet’s software—CurricUNET META —automates the development and approval process of new courses and programs as well as their management and maintenance in higher education, a process that previously required a significant commitment of resources – time, funds and people. Automating this process with META creates greater efficiencies and effectiveness of resources, dramatically saving universities upwards of 2,300 hours per year.

Cecil Broadnax, PhD, remains Vice President of Sales and Business Development. Mr. Broadnax is responsible for planning and directing all aspects of Governet’s marketing and sales policies, objectives and initiatives, including Social Media platforms.

Nancy Howard, previously Chief Operating Office, is now Vice President of Product Delivery and Services. In her new role, Ms. Howard is responsible for product delivery and improving clients’ experience with Governet from installation to technical support and help desk questions.

Ken Brown was promoted from Senior Software Engineer to Vice President of Technology and Development. In his new role, Mr. Brown will head the development of Governet’s software and manage the company’s IT department.

Robert Searcy leads the accounting, finance, human resources and legal departments as the Vice President of Finance, Accounting and Management.

Steve Thyberg, previously Vice President Client Services, will coordinate product development policies, objectives and initiatives by providing real-time market analysis of current trends and future market direction as the Vice President of Market Solutions.

UC Davis’ New Web-Based Curriculum Management System Could Save 100s of Man-Hours

Governet, a technology company that creates and implements a digital software as a service (SaaS) curriculum and program management platform for colleges and universities around the world, recently signed a contract to install its core CurricUNET META System at the University of California, Davis.

Founded in 1905, UC Davis is the largest campus within the 10-campus University of California system with more than 5,300 acres. The campus serves about 34,500 students.

Governet will work with UC Davis staff to customize the software to the university’s specific needs for course approvals and an online catalog. Project leadership expects the software program to be installed and operational next summer.
